HEALTHPRO CNA Comprehensive Review Course

The HEALTHPRO CNA Comprehensive Review Course is a 10-week, 80-hour program tailored for working individuals, offering evening and weekend classes to accommodate busy schedules. This course is a test preparation program designed to help students “challenge” the CNA exam. Please note, it is not affiliated with any certifying boards.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Led by an experienced instructor holding credentials as a DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, the course provides:

Twelve-Chapter Review

A comprehensive review based on OBRA standards, covering essential topics to help students succeed on the state Nursing Assistant Certification Exam.

Hands-On Practice of 21 Fundamental Nursing Assistant Skills

As outlined in the Prometric Nursing Assistant Candidate Handbook, students will gain confidence by practicing the following 21 essential skills:

Handwashing

Measuring and recording blood pressure

Measuring and recording body temperature

Measuring and recording pulse

Measuring and recording respirations

Measuring urinary output from a drainage bag

Ambulation using a gait belt

Feeding assistance

Mouth care

Mouth care with dentures

Mouth care for an unconscious patient

Toileting assistance with a bedpan

Hand and nail care

Foot care

Transferring a patient to a wheelchair

Repositioning a patient in bed

Changing an occupied bed

Female perineal care

Male perineal care

Partial bed bath

Skills practice is cross-referenced with the CNA Candidate Handbook, ensuring alignment with exam standards.

Exam Fees

Tuition does not include the cost of the state CNA exam. Students must register and pay for the exam directly through Prometric Testing Centers.

Background Checks

A background check is required before registering for the Prometric exam.

No Outside Assignments

All lectures and skills practice are conducted during scheduled class times.

What is the CNA Exam?

The CNA exam, administered by the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP), assesses competency for entry-level nurse aides. It includes:

Written/Oral Exam: Evaluating knowledge in Physical Care Skills, Psychosocial Care Skills, and the Role of the Nurse Aide.

Skills Demonstration: Candidates perform five randomly selected tasks under evaluation, including hand hygiene and a measurement skill.

By completing this course, students will be fully prepared to take the CNA exam, earn certification, and join their state’s nurse aide registry.
